Acne Scarring - Jess, New York, USA

"I never thought that I would be able to love my skin again and feel confident, but after only 3 short months of dry brushing, I have never felt better about the appearance of my skin."

Dear Bodecare,  I have always battled acne but never had more than the occasional break out.  After deciding to go off birth control at 25 my skin went crazy. I broke out in horrible, painful cystic acne that covered my whole face. I was embarrassed to leave the house and no longer felt comfortable in my own skin. Hormonal acne was challenging because it was a problem inside my body that I needed to sort out before my skin would recover.

I went to the dermatologist and was able to get my hormones in balance, which led to my skin starting to clear up. The only problem was, I was left with angry looking red scars all over my cheeks that weighed on my confidence just as much as the acne had. My friend Alyssa recommended that I try the Jute dry face brush. I had never tried dry brushing before but it seemed simple enough to add to my morning routine.

Every morning after I wake up, before my shower I dry brush my face. The first time I tried it I looked in the mirror and could already see a small difference. My face felt smoother and looked less red. I have been using the Jute brush for about 3 months now and it has transformed my skin. The scars that were once red and noticeable are now barely visible. My skin feels younger, smoother, and the best part is, is that I have not had one zit since I started dry brushing.

The dermatologist had recommended a laser treatment for my scarring but I can say with certainty that I know I will not need it if I continue my dry brushing. I never thought that I would be able to love my skin again and feel confident, but after only 3 short months of dry brushing, I have never felt better about the appearance of my skin.

Important thing to note:  Jess waited until the pustular pimples had healed and then started dry face brushing.  Never brush over open wounds or infection.
