Bodecare specializes in Dry Body Brushes.  Dry Body Brushing is a traditional natural health practice, which involves brushing over the skin dry and followed by a shower or bath.  Clients of bodecare love to dry body brush because of the amazing improvement of their skin through exfoliation and increasing circulation. Dry brushing left their skin visibly glowing, felt smoother and increased hydration.

Whether you are a beginner or have been body brushing for years, your bristle preference will vary. Every body brush in the range will give you excellent exfoliation and stimulation, you don’t have to press hard on your skin to get the results. Bodecare bristles are categorised as Extra Soft, Soft, Medium and Firm.  So as you become more experienced in body brushing you can graduate to the next level bristle and continue getting the results you are after.

'I choose to use Bodecare products for personal use and in my clinic for the following reasons: 1.They are a Good Quality Product. 2. They are made with the use of eco-friendly materials. 3. The use of Biodegradable & recyclable packaging. 4. The choice of using natural plant bristle brushes (animal friendly & vegan) I believe that in today’s ecological climate, every business should be looking at their impact on the environment and ways in which they can contribute to protecting and preserving our precious planet.

Jodie and Bodecare set an excellent example of how achievable this can be.  It is with great confidence that I recommend Bodecare Products.

"I had the opportunity to go to your office this morning and I was assisted very nicely by Karen. I couldn't wait to try one of your brushes, so I just did it today, following the instructions in the brochure towards the lymphatic nodes and... I felt better than ever! Not only that my skin was beautifully softer after brushing, but a totally overwhelming well-being that lasted for a few hours. I didn't expect that much, and that's why I am glad to tell you that you have won a customer for life straight away. Thank you, thank you, thank you."  A.Carrasco, ST Lucia QLD.

“I would say there may appear to be a number of body brushes on the market, but nothing comes close to the quality of the natural bristle Bodecare range of brushes.  Firm bristle or soft, they don't 'scratch' your skin!  Mine have lasted and lasted for months on end in our bathroom, unlike other cheaper alternatives I use to buy.” Nicole Milton, Karma Living, Adelaide.

How does dry body brushing help to reduce toxins in your body like cellulite?

Regular dry body brushing assists the body in normal removal of metabolic wastes.  The skin is the largest organ of the body and is sometimes called the “third kidney” due to its role in the elimination of waste from the body. Elimination of waste occurs via the lymphatic system. The lymph is a transit system which travels via vessel much like the blood. The lymph transports food and oxygen from the blood to the cells and the cells then return the waste back through the lymph to the blood. Dry skin brushing helps improve the movement of lymph, so that are cells receive the food and oxygen at a better rate and the cells excrete waste back to the blood at a better rate. So to with our circulation, underlying the skin is vast network of capillaries connected to the circulatory system. Dry brushing stimulates the blood circulation improving the flow of blood traveling to the heart for increased vitality and energy.

Research from renowned naturopaths has found that a sluggish lymphatic system and pore diet can contribute to the build up of cellulite. Dry body brushing helps improve the lymph flow, along with a healthy diet and regular exercise and assist in the break-down of fatty deposits of cellulite.

Does dry body brushing make my skin glow?

Yes regular dry skin brushing will make your skin glow because it is assisting the body in a number of skin functions like:

  • Exfoliates - Skin regeneration grows from the bottom-up, the new skin layers pushing their way up and eventually sloughing off the dead skin sitting on the top layer. When we are young this process occurs frequently but as we get older it slows down and we get a build up of dead skin on the surface, leaving our skin feeling dry, rough, ingrown hairs, bumpy skin. Dry body brushing helps exfoliate the dead skin on the top layer, removing the scurf of dry surface skin, moisturizer products are more readily absorbed, bumpy build up round the shoulders, buttock and backs of legs is removed and reduction of ingrown hairs.
  • Sweat and oil glands help keep our skin moist, and the collagen and elastin fibers help strengthen our skin, as we get older the pores become flaccid and collagen and elastin fibres start to break down, the skin becomes thin and can break. Dry body brushing helps stimulate the sweat oil glands improving moisture to our skin and also strengthen the collagen and elastin fibres, keeping our skin strong and pliable.
  • Balance the skin - Our skin needs to breathe; it requires air and light to function properly. We cover our skin with clothes, especially in the colder seasons, and if they are wearing synthetic clothes, this fabric does not breathe. The use of cosmetic products, especially antiperspirants with aluminum compound plugs up the sweat ducts. Dry body brushing can compensate for what we do to the skin by invigorating it, opening up the pores and bringing it back to a healthy state.
  • Alleviates vein and lymph congestion to reduce orange-peel appearance or cellulite.

Why is a natural bristle better than a synthetic bristle for dry brushing?

Bodecare pure natural bristles, especially our plant bristles are firm enough to stimulate and exfoliate the skin but do not scratch the skin. Plant bristle has tiny hooks and imperfections which gather the dead skin while sweeping over the body and the ends of the bristle are slightly frayed, which is why it doesn’t scratch the skin. Synthetic bristles are completely smooth and with even cut ends. To achieve the equivalent firmness required for dry brushing with a synthetic bristle would be quite sharp and scratch the skin. Firm synthetic bristles are most commonly found with hair brushes. Synthetic brushes for the body are best if they have a very soft bristle meant for body washes in the shower and nylon is less likely to mold in the shower.
