No matter what type of fake tan you use, it’s only as good as the skin you put it on. To prep your skin for the perfect self-tan there are a few simple tips you can follow. Dry body brush every morning for at least 3 days before you apply the tan. On the day you are going to apply the tan follow these steps: dry body brush; while in the shower use the Bodecare Dry Exfoliating Powder (mix with water only because using oil may stop the self tan from absorbing into the skin) massage into skin especially the knees, elbows, legs and around the hands and ankles; if you don’t want to use the dry exfoliating powder buff off the extra dry skin with the Bodecare Exfoliating Sisal Glove, lather with your favourite shower gel or soap. This extra exfoliating will ensure an even tan application.
Next step is to lightly moisturise with the Bodecare Yin Hydration cream, ensure to moisturise around the hair line, elbows, knees, hands and ankles. Allow a couple of minutes for it to absorb into the skin. Apply self tan from feet, legs and up the body. Then wet a cloth/washer, wring out the excess water and lightly dab on elbows, wrists, ankles and knees to prevent any unsightly colour build up on dry skin. Wash hands thoroughly, especially in between fingers to ensure there is no residue self tan left.
To prolong the self tan don’t dry body brush for a couple of days and continue to moisturise daily with the Bodecare Yin Hydration cream.
Once you are ready to remove the self tan, start dry body brushing again, in the shower use the Bodecare Sisal Exfoliating Mitt with your shower gel products and apply Jojoba oil after your shower at night. The self tan will come off quite easily with this routine.
